PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the efficiency of the management of a version by preserving the content of electronic data formed by plural versions so that it can be identified as one original and controlling the access of different levels with electronic data and electronic data except for said data. SOLUTION: A device 100 which stores electronic data being an original and is accessed from a host computer 110 through a network is constituted of a mass storage medium 101, a communication port 102, a program storage medium 103, an inner storage medium 104, a timer 105 and a processor 106. The content of electronic data formed by plural versions is preserved in a state where it can be identified as one original with such constitution. The access control of different levels is executed by preserved electronic data of the original and electronic data except for said data. The version of original data containing the guarantee of original property straddling plural versions can efficiently be managed with such processing.
