PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop ultrahigh-strength steel having simultaneously improved strength, toughness, ductility and atmospheric corrosion resistance in comparison with conventional ultrahigh-strength steel, and to cast the steel in the air without using a vacuum melting facility or a vacuum casting facility which is expensive and needs time.;SOLUTION: The ultrahigh-strength stainless steel is cast in the air after having blent Si, Cr, Mo, Ni, Co, Cu, W and Fe; and has a yield strength of 1,481 MPa (215,000 psi) or higher, a tensile strength of 1,654 MPa (240,000 psi) or higher and an elongation of 6% or higher. The ultrahigh-strength stainless steel cast in the air may further include one or more components selected from the group consisting of C, Mn, V and a mixture of them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
