PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of accurately detecting a flaw, without requiring advanced skill in detecting flaws of a rail from a reflected echo obtained by radiating an ultrasonic pulse to the rail.;SOLUTION: The rail flaw detector 1 comprises probes 29, 30, 31, 43 and 53 for detecting the flaws of the rail 100, and supporting members 20, 40 and 50 for supporting the probes near the rail 100. The support members 20, 40 and 50 can move the probes 29, 30, 31, 43 and 53 coming into contact with the rail 100, while pressing them to the rail 100 at a substantially fixed pressure. Thus, in detecting the flaws of the rail 100 from a reflected echo obtained by radiating an ultrasonic pulse to the rail 100, accurate flaw detection is allowed without requiring advanced skill.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
