PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the activity of photocatalytic titanium oxide, by which the photocatalytic activity of photocatalytic titanium oxide can be improved by simple treatment at a low cost without using a noble metal and to provide a method for manufacturing high-activity photocatalytic titanium oxide, by which high-activity photocatalytic titanium oxide can be obtained easily at a low cost.;SOLUTION: The method for improving the photocatalytic activity of photocatalytic titanium oxide comprises the steps of: heating photocatalytic titanium oxide to the firing temperature; and cooling the heated photocatalytic titanium oxide at ≤150°C/hour cooling rate. The method for manufacturing high-activity photocatalytic titanium oxide comprises step (I) of firing a precursor of photocatalytic titanium oxide and cooling the heated precursor to obtain photooxidation catalyst type titanium oxide and step (II) of heating the photooxidation catalyst type titanium oxide obtained at the step (I) to the firing temperature and cooling the heated photooxidation catalyst type titanium oxide at ≤150°C/hour cooling rate to improve the photocatalytic activity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
