PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of discriminating the attribute of color charts by means of a fewer color patches, without errors. PSOLUTION: In the print processing of the color chart 60, a color evaluation patch C with a specific address, corresponding to an ID number unique to the color chart 60 is printed by RGB (CMYK) values as those of attributes specifying color patches Z1 to Z3. Another color evaluation patch C is searched, whereby the L*a*b* value obtained by actually applying colorimetry to the color chart 60 is the same as that of the attribute specifying color patches Z1 to Z3. Then its ID number is restored on the basis of the searched address. That is, even if the color chart 60 is printed under printing condition whatsoever, since the color evaluation patch C with the specific address and the attribute specifying color patches Z1 to Z3 are printed, on the basis of the same color values under the same condition and a color matching relation of the both is established universally, wrong discrimination will not result.
