PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of limit of an application range by high or low rigidity at upper and lower parts of a multilayer substrate on a presently proposed formula enabling the influence of rigidity of each layer of the substrate to be quantitatively incorporated into the calculation of subsidence amount and the problem of use of the solution of an isotropic homogenous elastic body or the solution which is not a closed form employing an analytic solution by repeating calculations on a presently proposed formula concerning the vertical stress of the multilayer substrate.;SOLUTION: The equivalent conversion thickness and the equivalent elastic modulus of a generalized Barber formula and a Terzaghi formula are proposed to adequately express the influence of rigidity in a vertical direction of each layer of the substrate on the instantaneous subsidence of the multilayer substrate, and the availability of the proposed formula is confirmed by comparing with strict solution and other numerical analysis technique. The formula of the vertical stress represented by the equivalent conversion thickness using the generalized Barber formula and the Terzaghi formula is proposed on the vertical stress of the multilayer substrate, and the availability of the proposed formula is confirmed by comparing the strict solution and other numerical analysis technique.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
