PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of regenerating a grain boundary precipitation type heat resistant magnesium alloy such as an Mg-Al-Ca-Sr-Mn based alloy in works as a superplastic material.;SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy diecast scrap subjected to degreasing and cleaning is subjected to hot extrusion molding at an extrusion temperature of 573 to 723 K at an extrusion ratio of ≥40 in the air or in an inert atmosphere, thus grain boundary precipitates are subjected to solid phase joining as being reoriented at the spacing of 10 μm parallel to the extrusion direction. In this way, the precipitates reoriented to 10 μm suppress the growth of grains during the extrusion, so as to produce the superplastic material having the fine crystal grains of 10 μm. In this invention, the superplastic material is produced by a relatively simple means from the needless scrap hard to be recycled, and the two purposes, scrap treatment and high performance material production, can be simultaneously attained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
