Slide rail for motor vehicle seat, has safety device to maintain lock in unlocked position in normal situation, and to release lock in emergency situation, so that lock is automatically placed in locked position due to elastic stress effect
The rail has a lock (22) movable between a locked position, where it immobilizes two slide rail units (13, 14) related to each other, and an unlocked position, where it permits the units to slide. A safety device (12) maintains the lock in the unlocked position in a normal usage situation, and releases the lock in an emergency situation, so that the lock is automatically placed in the locked position due to an elastic stress effect. An independent claim is also included for a seat comprising a base carried by a slide rail.
