The system (7) has an optical fiber (10) guiding a light ray emitted by a lamp (11), until to the proximity of an inked zone (5) created on a substrate by a printer. An optical fiber (12) guides a light ray reflected by the zone until to a spectrophotometer (13). The spectrophotometer captures the reflected light ray and provides a measurement signal representing the characteristic such as color, of the zone, to a control unit (8). An independent claim is also included for an assembly of multiple machines, for printing on a substrate, comprising an assembly of detection systems.
