Mechanical friction piece for panic stop equipment of e.g. tram car has surface equipped with set of projecting units subjected to friction, where units are made of metallic material of specific Vickers hardness
The piece has a surface (3) equipped with a set of projecting units (2) subjected to the friction. The projecting units are made of a metallic material of Vickers hardness 4,000 MPa. The projecting units comprise of multiple grousers, studs and/or points. The shape of each projecting unit is selected from a cone, a pyramid with triangular, square or polygonal base, a sphere and/or a torus. An independent claim is also included for a panic stop system comprising a friction piece.
