Diesel engine control method for e.g. car, involves reintroducing external and internal exhaust gas recirculation gas, coming from exhaust or inlet valve, in cylinder during different operation points of diesel engine
The method involves reintroducing external exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) gas, coming from an exhaust valve (15), in a cylinder through an inlet valve (16), during an operation point of a diesel engine. Internal EGR gas, coming from an exhaust valve or an inlet valve, is reintroduced in the cylinder through this valve, during another operation point of the engine. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising a system for controlling a diesel engine.
