Method for preparing polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) casting plates (I) with enhanced shockproofness comprises: heating a mixture (comprising alkoxyamine and monomers to form a central sequence (B1)) to activate alkoxyamine and polymerizing the monomers; reactivating (B1) to form the branches (A); adding methyl methacrylate (MMA) to the obtained mixture and optionally a comonomer (M) with MMA and a free radical initiator; casting and heating. Method for preparing polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) casting plates (I) with enhanced shockproofness comprises: heating a mixture (comprising at least one alkoxyamine of formula Z(T) n and monomers to form a central sequence B1) to activate alkoxyamine and polymerizing the monomers; reactivating B1 optionally mixed with the non-consumed monomers of the previous in the presence of the monomers to form the branches (A); adding MAM to the obtained mixture and optionally at least one comonomer (M) capable of forming free radical copolymerization with the methyl methacrylate (MMA) and one free radical initiator; casting the obtained mixture in a mould, followed by heating. Z : a multivalent group; and n : greater than 2 (preferably 2-8). Independent claims are also included for: (1) the preparation of casting PMMA plates with enhanced shockproofness comprising: preparing a mixture comprising a copolymer sequence of formula B1(-A) n made up of n branches (A) and bonded by covalent bonds to one central sequence B1 (where n is =2 (preferably 2-8)), MAM and optionally at least a comonomer (M) and free radical initiator; casting the obtained mixture as a mould, followed by heating to obtain a cast plate; (2) a plate obtained by the process; (3) homo- or copolymer of (MAM) comprising homogeneously dispersed particles of B1(-A) n sequenced copolymer in the form of spherical nodules having one or more sub-nodules of same composition as homo- or copolymer of methyl methacrylate; and (4) a cast plate comprising a homo- or copolymer.
