The invention relates to a method for producing a corrosion-resistant sheet of cold-rolled austenitic iron-carbon-manganese steel, comprising the following steps: A sheet is provided whose chemical composition comprises, the contents being expressed by weight 0.35% ≤ C ≤ 1.05%, 16% ≤ Mn ≤ 24%, the remainder of the composition consisting of iron and unavoidable impurities resulting from production, said sheet is cold-rolled, a recrystallization annealing on said sheet in a furnace containing a gas chosen from reducing gases with respect to iron, the annealing parameters being chosen so that said sheet is covered on both sides with a sub-layer of oxide (FeMn) O essentially amorphous and an outer layer of crystalline MnO manganese oxide, the total thickness of these two layers being greater than or equal to 0.5 micrometer
