The switch has permanent magnets (3) cooperating with Hall effect sensors (4) to generate distinct signals corresponding to different respective selection positions of a sphere (2) with respect to a case (1). The magnets are arranged on the sphere to generate a magnetic field which is non-uniform and dissymmetrical with respect to the sphere. The Hall Effect sensors have instantaneous magnetic field detection units.
