The cylindrical milling tool has multiple spiral-shaped major cutting edges (12-14) which possess an open space (16) with a setting angle of at least 8[deg] and width of at least 0.08xtool diameter. For the transition of the cutting edge of major cutting edge to the assigned open space, a chamfer (17) is intended with an angle from 0.0025[deg] to 5[deg] and with of 0.003 to 0.06xtool diameter.
