The system has three lights for displaying traffic light phases and a counter display for digitally displaying seconds value for cycle time of each traffic light phase. The traffic light phases are displayed as green, yellow and red color, where count-down lengths of the time for change-over of the traffic light phases are displayed in the counter display. The change-over from one phase to the subsequent phase takes places, when the seconds value is zero.
