The pressure plate (3) is to absorb swelling pressure of bentonite mineral during the sealing of active cracks (1) in above-ground reinforced concrete walls (2) against escaping water. The pressure plate for the compensating of crack movements has spherical preformed elements (5) for the maintaining of the counterpressure during the swelling of bentonite seals (4). For deformation compensation the pressure plate has one or more grooves following the course of the crack.
