The device has a diffusing panel (8) arranged with a distance behind an LCD-unit (4), and a border area surrounding the panel and the LCD-unit. An LED (14) is arranged in the border area. A light reflecting device (22) has a reflector (24) which is concavely curved from the LED to reflect light from the LED to the panel and/or LCD-unit. The LED is displaceably arranged in a plane of the panel or in front in a direction of an observer.
