The mold for producing O-rings from elastomers has an upper (1) and a lower (1') section with annular grooves (12, 12') which form a mold for the ring when the sections are assembled. The dividing line between the sections is offset from the center of the molding channel. Independent claims are included for: (A) O-rings with lips produced by the mold dividing line which are at an angle to the horizontal plane passing through the ring; and (B) use of the rings in pipe connections using press-fittings, the lips not being positioned in the area of contact of the ring with fitting and pipe.
