The method involves accomplishing a survey of input parameters over a user interface (BO). A calculation procedure for calculating the static characteristics of a maypole is processed based on the parameter. The interface is configured such that information for maypole measurement and maypole decoration is inputted. The procedure is defined in such a manner that the determination of the characteristics of the maypole takes place under consideration of wind load that is predictable in co-operation with the specified maypole decoration and the maypole decoration that is under consideration. An independent claim is also included for an electronic calculating instrument for processing an electronic data processing in connection with the statics-determination of a maypole.
