Method for operation of internal combustion engine involves broadband lambda sensor whereby first change of lambda signal by sensor is determined and oxygen discharged after first change is determined
The method involves a lambda sensor (16) which is a broadband lambda sensor. The first change of the lambda signal (lamnK,lamnKF) by lambda sensor is determined and oxygen discharged after the first change is determined. The determination of discharged oxygen is not performed if either a second change of the lambda signal takes place or if a predetermined quantity of oxygen is discharged. An independent claim is also included for the device for operation of internal combustion engine.
