A derivation module uses a binary input signal to generate a variable used for controlling a source of current. This input signal generates an actuating variable (Uref) that progresses exponentially dependent on time (t) with a positive exponent, beginning with the ascending side of an impulse, and continues steadily at a maximum value limited by a circuit after a time has expired (t1).
