Application of hydrophilic gels involves adding of collapsible hydrophilic gel to samples of aqueous low molecular weight organic and inorganic compounds thereby resulting in loading of the gel with water and the associated low-molecular weight compounds. The gel subsequently collapses in order to unload the sample of water and low-molecular weight materials.
