The device has an illumination spectrum (9) to check centering of eyeglass lenses in a frame. A light source is arranged in a viewing direction of an eyeglass (5), where the source illuminates the eyeglass or spectrum during checking of centering of the lenses. Two functions of stress examination, checking of centering of glasses in the eyeglass and examination of a material and surface property of the lenses are realized.
