The method involves determining position data e.g. distance data, of an object of a trailer (4) or a tractor (3), using a radar sensor. The determined position data are subjected to filtration with model data to identify the object. Position of the trailer or tractor is found by the filtered position data. Angle between the tractor and trailer is determined from the position of the tractor or trailer. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining the bending angle between a tractor and a trailer of a motor vehicle combination, which forms an articulated train.
