The method involves providing a gap between two pre-fabricated slabs (1, 2), which are fixed and aligned to each other and are adjacent to anchor rods (6, 7). Ends of the rods are connected with a clamping unit (3) with a wedge. The gap is pre-stressed by inserting of the wedge into the clamping unit. The rods are clamped after hardening of a sealing compound e.g. concrete, which is pressed closely against the front side of the slabs. An independent claim is also included for a pre-fabricated slab for use as a component of a firm roadway for high-speed transportation.
