The motor vehicle has a seat and display devices (30-39, 41-44) for displaying information not relevant to the seat. A seat occupancy sensor is provided for detecting the occupancy state of the seat. A display control is provided for controlling the display devices based on an output signal of the seat occupancy sensor. The display devices or an operating device is arranged in or on a steering wheel of the motor vehicle.
