Biological origin substance small quantities identification device measures an angle of dependence of light diffused in-elastically on a bio-material (16) and compares with reference measurements. The device is used in a UV-emitting laser system for production of non-elastic diffused light that is measured in a large solid angle region using a 2D detector. The light is compared with measurements of the angular distribution of the diffused non-elastic light. An independent claim is also included for a method for identification of small quantities of substances of biological origin.
