The method is for the control of an adjustable restoring force on an accelerator pedal in a vehicle, whereby after exceeding the restoring force the restoring force (R) is reduced, and with the restoring force reduced and an additional condition the restoring force is increased again in the actual accelerator pedal position (psi aO). The additional condition is a nil-acceleration of the vehicle and/or a constant accelerator position or an established set speed.
