The method involves using a flap adjustment actuator to adjustably actuate the guide flaps (5) of a static separator (2), and using a rigging device for concentric admission of a follower pin into the cylindrical portion of the upper gudgeon (7) of each guide flap. The rigging device has a transverse slot for receiving insertion of a following pin. - Each guide flap is provided with upper gudgeon and lower gudgeon (8), and arranged inside a separator housing (9) for rotation around a rotation axis. The guide flaps can be adjusted based on adjustment markings (10) using the upper and lower gudgeons. Each lower gudgeon has a diagonal cone wedging connected to a guide sleeve for locking the guide flap to the cylindrical section. The following pin is inserted through the cylindrical section of each upper gudgeon.
