The lining support plate to hold a friction lining, especially for disc brakes of vehicles, has a recess (1) which extends with at least one break on the side of the friction lining. In the region of the break an additional break (2) extends laterally offset to it. A recess may be provided on both sides of the break. The laterally offset recess may have a progression which overlaps the respective break.
