A method for measuring delay intervals of an optical line in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) system and a setting method therefor are provided to use an optical repeater which can obtain a wider coverage than a base station by measuring delay intervals of an optical line and setting the delay intervals. A donor unit of an optical repeater measures an optical line while commanding an automatic setting(S100). A remote unit forms a loop for a transceiving path of the optical line(S110). The donor unit emits a digital signal, and measures the round trip delay of the optical line(S120). The donor unit additionally sets intervals as many as differences between maximum delay intervals set in a base station and measured delay intervals(S130).
