PURPOSE: A method for remotely monitoring server processes of a communication network management system is provided to manage a state of a communication network, and to remotely monitor states of the server processes by equipping a connection point of a client process. Therefore, it is possible to raise efficiency of the communication network management system. CONSTITUTION: A monitor process reads a monitoring object item(301), and attempts to connect with server processes(302). If the connection are not completed, the monitor process decides that the server processes are abnormal(304). If the connections are completed, the monitor process decides whether the server processes are available for diagnosis responses(305). If not, the monitor process decides that states of the server processes are normal(307). If the server processes are available for the diagnosis responses, the monitor process transmits diagnosis messages(306). The monitor process decides whether the diagnosis responses exist(308). If not, the monitor process decides that states of the server processes are abnormal(309). If the diagnosis responses exist, the monitor process receives the diagnosis messages(310). The monitor process reads current states of the server processes recorded on a diagnosis history database, and decides whether the current states are in accord with the states of the server processes. If so, the monitor process decides that the states are not changed, and adds a decided result to the diagnosis history database. If the current states are different from the states of the server processes, the monitor process decides that the states are changed, and updates the current states, then adds the updated states to the diagnosis history database. The monitor process updates state display screens of the server processes, and generates audible sounds to notify an operator of a diagnosed result.
