A method for inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells using an anti-cancer MTX-LDH hybrid is provided, thereby reducing the time required for inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells compared to that of single MTX treatment with minimized side-effects of drugs. The method for inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells comprises treating osteosarcoma cells with the anti-cancer MTX-LDH hybrid, wherein the osteosarcoma cell is Saos-2; the osteosarcoma cell is MG-63; and the anti-cancer MTX-LDH hybrid is prepared by inserting MTX(metotrexate) between LDH(layered double hydroxide) through an ion exchange reaction.
