PURPOSE: A fast blind rate detection method is provided to improve a process speed of a receiver side and reduce a load and a power consumption of the receiver side by omitting a data decoding process and a CRC testing process. CONSTITUTION: A receiver side initializes nend, Smin, and nend' to 1, D, and 0, respectively(200). The receiver side performs an ACS operation of a viterbi decoding(202), and outputs S(nend)(204). When the S(nend) is less than an optional Smin(206), the receiver side traces back to the nend and decodes data(206). The receiver side performs a CRC testing with respect to the decoded data(210,212). When an error is not generated in the CRC testing result data, the receiver side the location as an optional end bit location(214). The receiver side preforms the operation to the location which is possible as a final end bit location(216). When the nend is 0, it is judged that an error is generated in received frame data(220).
