Producing slag comprising calcium fluoride, calcium oxide, alumina and optionally magnesium oxide and silica comprises introducing a raw material comprising these components into a metering cyclone and feeding it together with dry oxygen into a combustion chamber and injecting hydrogen or anhydrous fuel into the combustion chamber through a lance passing through the outlet opening of the cyclone.
