DNA molecule of plant origin encoding a modified 5-enol pyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) including at least one substitution of threonine 102 by isoleucine, and a substitution of proline 106 by serine of sequence EPSPS from maize and useful for producing glyphosate-resistant transformed plants, is disclosed.
