In the present invention, there is disclosed a mixture of two particulate phases which is intended for the production of a half-finished product that can be sintered at higher temperatures. According to the invention, the first phase contains particles that consist of a metal and/or a metal alloy and/or a metal compound, and the second phase contains particles from the group of the inorganic compounds which do not release any decomposition products at temperatures of more than 400 degC C that are interstitially soluble in the sintering metal phase and/or that react with said phase to stable compounds, whereby the inorganic compounds are selected from the group consisting of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal halides. The first phase contains temperature unstable hydrides of at least one of the metals forming the sintered alloy. The manufacturing process of such a half-finished product that can be sintered at higher temperatures and making use of the above-described mixture is characterized by homogeneously mixing a fist and a second phases of the mixture and subsequently the mixture is introduced into a mold that is heat and chemically stable at sintering temperature. Disclosed is also a process for producing metallic shaped bodies with open pores wherein the process comprises heating the half-finished product up to sintering of the first phase particles to a structure with open pores takes place wherein particles of the second phase are removed from a shaped body pores in the course of sintering process or after the sintering process is finished.
