Changes in the cervical canal (4) and vagina (2) are monitored and in the event of these changes being detected a report is sent using communication technology. A probe (3) is inserted via the vagina into the cranial vagina at the cranial canal and used to measure expansion or contraction of the cranial vagina or cranial canal. The probe, which comprises a sensor wire, an antenna, a printed circuit board, rechargeable batteries and a charger coil, is also used to send a text message (SMS) to a base station via a microcontroller using GSM mobile phone technology.
