PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling apparatus and a controlling method by which shifting from the melting of a molten salt bath to a state allowing the start of electrolysis can safely be performed in such a manner that the unequal state of the bath face is solved in the case of remelting after its temporary solidification.;SOLUTION: In the apparatus for controlling a molten salt electrolyzer, an electrolytic bath 2 in a solid form as contained in the electrolyzer 1 is melted to automatically attain a state allowing electrolysis. The apparatus comprises detecting means for detecting the changes in state of the electrolyzer 1 by means of detectors 33 fitted to the electrolyzer, and adjusting means for adjusting, after using the detecting means, the liquid electrolytic bath levels to a state allowing electrolysis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
