PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate post-machining and to improve the accuracy of a holder by continuing the inner wall surfaces of a thin part and both thick parts in a tapered wall surface inclined to a center side and forming a pocket guiding surface for guiding a needle-like roller to be a sheared surface on a pitch circle. ;SOLUTION: A pocket 1c is punched from the thin part 1a of a center part to one area of the thick part 1b of both end parts, the circumferential direction dimension of the center part of the pocket 1c is formed to be larger than the dimensions of both side parts and the peripheral wall surfaces of both side parts are used as guiding surfaces 1c1 for the needle-like roller. The inner wall surfaces of the thin part 1a and both thick parts 1b are made to be continuous in a tapered wall surface 1d inclined to the center part and when the pocket 1c is punched and machined, the shape of the blade of a punch is formed to have a tapered angle corresponding to the tapered wall surface of a holder billet and thus, an area on the pitch circle PCD of the guiding surface 1c1 are prevented from being a ruptured surface and a sheared surface is formed. Thus, the accuracy of the guiding surface of the pocket is assured, post- machining is made unnecessary and manufacturing costs are reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
