PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a border beam damper that reasonably damps vibrations in a RC structure without hindering inner spaces within the building.;SOLUTION: A bracket 3 is constructed in one with the side of one RC core wall 2a, and a steel damper 5 is fixed at its one end to the end of the bracket 3 and at its other end to the side of the other RC core wall 2b. At a part of the bottom surface of the bracket 3 close to its end, a viscous damper 6 is provided perpendicular to the bracket 3, with the end of a piston 6b thereof connected with a part of the bottom surface of the bracket 3 close to its end, and with the end of a cylinder 6a thereof connected with a bracket 3a of a border beam damper 1a provided below the bracket 3. The bracket 3 of border beam damper 1 is arranged at the sides of one RC core wall 2a and of the other RC core wall 2b alternately in each two adjacent floors, so that the steel material damper 5 and the viscous damper 6 may be arranged left and right alternately in each two adjacent floors.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
