PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To temporarily support an upper structure above the base isolation layer of an existing building during the construction period by fitting base metals above and below the base isolation device fitting position of an object to be fitted with a base isolation device, and connecting V-shaped steels between the upper and lower base metals. ;SOLUTION: Base metals 3 are fitted above and below the base isolation device fitting position A of a column 2 to be fitted with a base isolation device 1, and V-shaped steels 4 are connected between the upper and lower base metals 3 in the vertical direction. When a required number of steels 4 are connected around the column 2 between the upper and lower base metals 3 in the vertical direction, the axial force applied to the column 2 is transferred to a lower structure through the steels 4. The outer diameter size of the column 2 can be kept equal to that before the base isolation work without requiring increased placing of concrete, the indoor space is not changed, the work can be simplified, and execution can be implemented in a short construction period.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
