PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a mist explosion of a combustible liquid by correctly measuring a lower limiting concentration of the mist explosion and a concentration of a limiting combustion-supportive gas. ;SOLUTION: After the combustible liquid to be detected is sprayed in a mist state in a combustion cylinder where a predetermined volume can be secured, a weight of the combustible liquid in the mist state sprayed into the combustion cylinder is measured in a manner not to be affected by a weight of the combustible liquid which cannot keep the mist state in the combustion cylinder and adheres to or drops along an inner wall of the combustion cylinder. A concentration of the mist is thus obtained. A lower limiting concentration of the mist is measured by confirming the presence/absence of a mist explosion upon ignition in the presence of the combustion-supportive gas at the mist concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
