PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for maximizing detection capacity of a quadrupole as the scanning speed increases.;SOLUTION: This is a device (200) for controlling electronically the quadrupole (110) of a mass spectrometer (100), and the device comprises a radio frequency (RF) drive circuit element and a direct current (DC) drive circuit element jointed to the quadrupole (110), an RF control loop (220) related to the RF drive circuit element, a DC control loop (230) related to the DC drive circuit element, and a control loop circuit element (1100) related to the DC control loop (230). The control loop circuit element (1100) changes the response of the DC control loop during the settling time (832) of the step response and makes the transmission rate of ions passing through the quardupole (110) during the settling time larger than the case when the response of the DC control loop (230) is not changed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
