PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather resistant steel usable in a state of being free from maintenance in a high floating salinity environment and capable of secur ing weldability at a low cost. ;SOLUTION: This steel has a composition containing, by mass, 0.003 to 0.15% C. 0.02 to 1.0% Si, 0.05 to 2.0% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.005% S, 0.05 to 1.0% Cu, 1.0 to 6.5% Ni, 0.10 to 0.40% Cr and 0.003 to 2.0% Al, further containing, if necessary, one or more kinds of metals selected from 0.05 to 1.0% Mo, 0.05 to 1.0% W and 0.05 to 1.0% V and satisfying the relation in the following inequality (1), and, in which weld cracking parameter Pcm expressed by the formula (2) is also controlled to ≤0.2.
