PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the initial adjustment of the focal position and the focal distance of a camera by using a single chart.;SOLUTION: The lens position confirmation chart has a pattern 51 and a mark 52. The mark 52 has a line parallel with a 2nd direction D2. The lens position confirmation chart is photographed. A rough range considered as a range where the mark 52 comes out is extracted from an image obtained by photographing the lens position confirmation chart as a 1st extraction area S1. The average luminance of every column in the 1st extraction area is obtained. The maximum value MXB of the obtained average luminance is detected. A 1st threshold PB1 is obtained on the basis of the maximum average luminance MXB. The columns dα and dβ having the average luminance exceeding the 1st threshold PB1 first toward the center from both outer sides in a 1st direction D1 are detected. The column dγ having the minimum average luminance is detected out of columns held between the columns dα and dβ.
