PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colon-cancer preventing agent which has high safety without side effect uneasiness even on continuous oral intake to expect a preventive effect on colon-cancer, and a food and drink containing the colon-cancer preventing agent. PSOLUTION: The colon cancer preventing agent comprises ovotransferrin which is one kind of protein in egg white as its active ingredient. The food and drink from which a colon-cancer preventing effect is expected is obtained by incorporating the colon-cancer preventing agent thereinto. Since the colon-cancer preventing agent contains, as an active ingredient, ovotransferrin which is one type of the protein in the egg white of a hen's egg eaten as a protein source of good quality for a long time, it has high safety without worrying about side effects on continuous oral intake and is reduced in bitterness and tastes good, and accordingly, does not affect the flavor even when a large amount of the colon-cancer preventing agent is incorporated into foods and drinks, and an excellent colon-cancer preventive effect can be expected.
