PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical agitating device for a high-viscosity, non-newtonian fluid that, even under requirements that cause the swirling-up of a liquid, can reduce the swirling-up of the liquid on an agitation shaft, can realize a good agitation and mixed state even in the case of a highly viscous liquid, and also can significantly reduce the intimate mixing time.;SOLUTION: In the vertical agitating device for a high-viscosity, non-newtonian fluid, in order to prevent the Weissenberg effect, an agitation shaft is inserted into an agitation tank from above the tank, an agitation blade is rotated through the shaft with a driving source outside the tank, and the liquid in the tank is agitated. The lower end of the shaft connected to an external driving source is held above the surface of the liquid in the tank, and the shaft and the blade are connected in a side shaft part which is shifted aside from the axis of the shaft and penetrates the surface of the liquid within the tank.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
