PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-photon absorption decoloring material having a two-photon absorption dye having a large non-resonant two-photon absorption sectional surface and a decoloring dye and capable of highly efficiently decoloring the decoloring dye by non-resonant two-photon absorption of the two-photon absorption dye, to provide a two-photon absorption refractive index modulation material using the same and to provide a three-dimensional optical recording material using them.;SOLUTION: The two-photon absorption decoloring material has at least the two-photon absorption dye performing two-photon absorption and the decoloring dye having a molar absorption coefficient of 100 of wavelength of light emitted at two-photon absorption and decolors the decoloring dye by electron transfer or energy transfer using excitation energy obtained by performing two-photon absorption of the two-photon absorption dye.
